What is TCC Skills Lab?

TCC Skills Lab is Tulsa’s talent development engine designed to help career shifters and upskillers gain real-world, job-ready skills through accelerated learning and employer-aligned experiences.

Who is TCC Skills Lab for?

TCC Skills Lab is designed for adults who are looking to start a new career, gain new technical skills, or strengthen their workforce readiness.

How much do TCC Skills Lab programs cost?

All TCC Skills Lab programs are free to Oklahoma residents, made possible through support from the George Kaiser Family Foundation and the Oklahoma Workforce Commission.

Are TCC Skills Lab programs online or in person?

Programs are fully virtual, but learners may also have access to an optional in-person study space at the TCC Skills Lab. The lab is open for bookings on Monday - Thursday from 4 - 7pm.

can i Visit the TCC Skills Lab?

Yes! The TCC Skills Lab is located at Gradient and is open for bookings Monday through Thursday from 4:00–7:00 PM. You can book a visit on our booking page.

Eligibility & Requirements

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible learners must be:

  • Oklahoma residents
  • 18 years or older at time of program start date
What do I need to participate?

To get started, learners need:

  • A laptop (at least 4 GB RAM)
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Webcam
  • Microphone
  • Dedicated learning space

Application & Enrollment

How do I apply?

The application process includes three steps:

  • Apply online
  • Receive an admission decision
  • Confirm enrollment
When do programs start?

Start dates vary by program. Dates are tentative and may change based on enrollment and scheduling. See our program page for the latest.

Can I apply late?

Late registration is subject to approval and handled on a case-by-case basis.

Learning Experience

What is the TCC Skills Lab learning experience like?

We offer accelerated learning programs designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. All programs are designed to allow for learners to earn a microcredential or professional certification in 6 months or less.

What kind of learner support is provided?

Every program includes personalized support, such as:

  • Career coaching
  • Regular check-ins
  • Monthly progress reporting
Do learners get access to additional resources?

Yes. Learners receive supplementary resources that reinforce learning paths and help apply new skills in practical ways.

Program Tracks

What learning tracks are available?

TCC Skills Lab offers three main tracks:

  • Residency Tracks (Beginner)
  • Sprint Tracks (Intermediate)
  • Work-Integrated Learning Experiences (Advanced)
What is a Residency Track?

Residency Tracks are structured programs lasting 2–6 months designed for beginner learners to build foundational skills, earn certifications, and receive cohort-based support.

What is a Sprint Track?

Sprint Tracks are shorter programs for intermediate learners, lasting 6–14 weeks, and help learners earn a TCC Skills Lab microcredential.

What are Work-Integrated Learning Experiences?

Work-Integrated Learning Experiences are hands-on opportunities for advanced learners to gain real-world project experience working directly with one of our employer partners.

Attendance & Participation Expectations

What is the time commitment for Residency Tracks?

Residency Tracks require weekly virtual live sessions. Requirements vary by program type:

  • Business management residency programs require 1 hour weekly.
  • Technology residency programs require two 2-hour sessions per week.
What is the time commitment for Sprint Tracks?

Sprint Track learners attend 30-minute bi-weekly virtual check-ins.

How is progress tracked?

TCC Skills Lab tracks learner progress to ensure learners stay on track and reach their goals with clarity and confidence.

Career Support

Does TCC Skills Lab help with career readiness?

Yes. Learners receive career coaching, including:

  • Goal setting
  • Resume development
  • Interview preparation
What happens after I finish my program?

Learners graduate with a microcredential or certification and are supported in taking their next step into the workforce.

Scheduling & Calendar

Does TCC Skills Lab observe holidays?

Yes. The TCC Skills Lab follows the Tulsa Community College Holiday Schedule. Our programs pause for all college-observed holidays, breaks, and closures. We encourage learners to review the current holiday calendar on the TCC website to plan for these breaks.
